Steven and I hosted our first Christmas dinner party over the weekend.
After weeks of planning, our party went off without a hitch.
We invited six of our closest friends for a night of festive food, fun and football. (FINS up!)
Let's start with table settings. I had my heart set on neutral-toned placements for many reasons. One, metallic placemats can be used year round. Two, I love classic colors plus, our Christmas decorations are silver and gold this year.
I knew I wanted assigned seating (just so I could incorporate calligraphy name cards) 😉 This was a lot of fun since the name cards I usually have are for clients.
Onto the table and centerpiece. I shopped for two weeks searching for the perfect pieces...I found them two days before the party. Go figure!
DIY Tip: Decorate glass candle jars with festive wording and flourishes to add a special touch.
I purchased the mercury glass monogram G votive holder from TJ Maxx. The candle beside it came from Walmart. I wrote Merry Christmas in calligraphy with a Sharpie to add festive flair.
I decorated a menu chalkboard with dinner items and dessert. Adding the Christmas trees and the letter G added a special touch and filled in space.
