I recently bought two nibs, holders and ink from Paper Inks and Art.
I'm a self-proclaimed pen snob and have always admired great penmanship, so I figured calligraphy would come natural. Boy, was I wrong!
To date, I use brush pens for the most part and it looks fabulous! Maybe it's because I'm acclimated to the bigger, bolder lettering or maybe it's my lack of patience.
Either way, practice makes perfect!
I reached out to my favorite calligraphers for advice after I saw an ink cage reservoir, like this one:
I'm thinking because my ink isn't sticking to my nib that could be the problem.
I plan to purchase the reservoir, and I'll keep you posted on the outcome.
'Til then, I'll be practicing....
