Steven and I completed another DIY project. To date, this wainscoting project is my favorite!
Wainscoting completely transforms a plain, drab wall into meaning and purpose.
I'll post another picture once I decorate the wall above the wainscoting and shelf.
(I'm still waiting for my new prints to arrive!)
The project cost about $75.
We purchased the crown molding, and wood from Lowe's.
I used paint that I bought a couple months ago for a bedroom suite. The paint color is Sherwin Williams Alabaster.
In hindsight, I would have used Kilz as a primer before painting over the orange walls. With Kilz, we wouldn't have needed as many coats of Alabaster.
Initially, we had only three wooden verticals, but Steven added more and I couldn't be happier with the outcome.
We plan to add wainscoting to the dining room area next.
Talk to you soon,
